EmpowerHer: Menstrual Health and Hygiene Education Initiative
Every month, 162 million women and girls across West and Central Africa face a shared but deeply personal challenge - menstruation. Yet, for too many, this natural process becomes a daily struggle, overshadowed by challenging environments and stigmatization. In the shadows of unsupportive social norms and limitations on their daily lives, these brave individuals often find their confidence and self-esteem eroded. They deserve better.
Operation Big Book Bag
This initiative is designed to support our mission to make a difference for school-aged children facing educational challenges in local homeless shelters and extended-care hospitals and facilities. Through this program, our chapter collects and donates crucial educational materials, equipment, and school supplies to enhance their learning experience.
Project CRADLE Care/Postpartum Medical Detention Debt Relief
Project CRADLE Care/Postpartum Medical Detention Debt Relief is one of our essential programs dedicated to raising awareness about the disparate and inequitable maternal and infant health outcomes that Black women face. Locally, we have expanded this program to include assistance for Postpartum Medical Detention Debt Relief to meet the needs of our communities.
Swim 1922
Drowning is a silent danger that claims far too many lives, and it stems from various causes. Economic activities like fishing, a lack of parental supervision, children's curiosity, and the risk of flooding all play a role in this alarming statistic. We believe in empowering our children to beat these odds by turning the tide and making water a place of safety and joy for every child.
Women's Wellness Initiative
The Women’s Wellness Initiative (WWI) is a collaborative effort that empowers chapters to address health issues impacting women, particularly women of color. This initiative emerged after the Sorority's participation in the United Nations/March of Dimes Prematurity Awareness panel in New York. Educational and programmatic efforts under this initiative encompass topics like Breast Cancer Awareness, Intimate and Domestic Violence, Heart Health, Diabetes Health, Mental Health, and other women-specific concerns. WWI programs can be conducted at any time during the sorority year.

It is designed to address pressing issues affecting our youth, such as drugs, teen violence, abuse, self-esteem, and more. Join us in empowering and creating a positive and safe space for our future leaders.
